Resurrected from what was once a dilapidated motel, the adults-only hotel is a private retreat within walking distance of the ocean in Laguna Beach, California. From the impeccable service, fine dining, opportunities for adventure and the vintage Southern California decor, Hotel Joaquin is a favorite with locals and travelers alike.

Cool Coastal Rooms at Hotel Joaquin
Each guest room at Hotel Joaquin is unique. Some rooms have views of Shaw’s Cove beach, small balconies, or soaking tubs. Maximum occupancy per room is two people. Only service dogs are allowed. The decor is reminiscent of 1950s beach style with a mix of Mediterranean influence. Each room has a vintage vibe with record players, custom furniture to fit the space, and interesting curated artwork. The solid brass lighting, light switches and dimmers were carefully selected to give a chic retro motif. The white walls and linens are complimented by natural wood furnishings. There is a mini bar in the room with the usual offers, as well as some refreshing healthier options. Before heading to your room, browse the vinyl in the lobby to select your favorite records to play on your in-room record player. There are no televisions in the guest rooms.
Fine Dining at Saline
The on-property quaint restaurant, Saline, serves seasonal Mediterranean dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is open to hotel guests only (plus up to two guests), so you will usually never have to make a reservation or wait for a table. Just take a seat at the bar or adjacent ocean-view tables, cozy lobby, or comfortable outdoor patio.

Looking for a healthy alternative to coffee? Try the chlorophyll water ($7). For lunch, try the prosciutto baguette with sun dried tomato, basil aioli, brie, and olive oil ($18). The hotel can even pack a lunch for you to take on the go. You’ll probably want to stay in for dinner and dine on things like the moroccan lamb stew couscous, braised vegetables, and coriander ($34).
