Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood Reopens
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood reopened on June 26 and I got a sneak peek. Not only does it include an expanded Central Perk Café and Friends Boutique, but lots of DC Universe and Wizarding World experiences too.
The tour starts and ends at the new Welcome Center where you can purchase merchandise from Warner Bros movies and TV shows. The tour includes the new “Storytelling Showcase,” and a new interactive grand finale, “Action and Magic Made Here.”
The tour starts with the “Storytelling Showcase” that shows the history of Warner Bro.’s film, TV and animation titles over its nearly 100-year history. There’s a small replica of the iconic water tower and an aerial view of the sprawling studio lot on the floor.
Next, in Stage 48, in “Script to Screen” with an interactive sound stage and food and beverages at the Friends-inspired Central Perk Cafe, that looks like the set. The menu includes New York-deli items such as corned beef melts, pizza wedges, hot dogs, fries, and an assortment of salads, hot and cold sandwiches, and a special blend of Central Perk coffee with new Friends character-inspired beverages. For dessert, they have recreated Rachel’s Thanksgiving trifle (no meat in this version), New York style cheesecake, Central Perk cupcakes, and other tasty bakery treats. The food is delicious, but the most fun part of the experience is eating it on the recreated sets from Friends…I sat on the orange couch!
Sets include Central Perk, Joey and Chandler’s Apartment, and Monica’s Apartment, where you can sit at the kitchen table or settle into her comfortable sofa. A variety of costumes worn by the cast are on display, and there are plenty of great photo opportunities throughout.
There is also a Friends boutique with exclusive merchandise found only at this location on the Studio Tour. The store has an exclusive collection of kitchen and dining ware, Monica’s famous door frame, Friends reunion-inspired spirit jerseys and coffee mugs, and a wide range of other gifts, souvenirs, and collectibles. Central Perk coffee beans (only available at the Central Perk Café and Friends boutique) are also on sale for guests to take home.
The tour continues with the “Action and Magic Made Here” grand finale with interactive experiences of the universe of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains and a behind-the-scenes look at Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts that includes props, costumes and photo ops. You can explore the Bat Cave, see the Batmobile up close, step into favorite scenes from Harry Potter, such as the Under the Stairs, and mix potions from Fantastic Beasts.
The tour ends with the “Celebration of Awards Season” that includes props and costumes from classic films as well as the option to have a photo taken holding a real Oscar trophy (it is heavy!).
