Miramonte Resort & Spa Indian Wells Offers Intention-Focused Wellness

Miramonte Resort & Spa Indian Wells, California is offering a new lineup of intention-driven wellness experiences for travelers looking to focus on their health in the Greater Palm Springs area.

Drawing inspiration from the natural healing powers of the desert, Miramonte’s wellness offerings connect mind, body and soul – from sankalpa ceremonies and sound baths to sunset vinyasa flows and stones of intention.

These practices help guests learn how to invite the universe to listen to their intentions in an effort to promote health and healing. Gemstones are used for specific benefits related to each guest’s intentions. The experiences will utilize tools such as Tibetan bells, tuning forks, shruti box, and sage, as well as body work, including hand healing gestures, integrative breathwork and mantras.

Wellness Journey

The resort has free wellness classes that go beyond yoga (although they offer that too!). Some of their unique offerings allow guests to be mindful about what they want from their wellness routines. Holistic Integrationist and Yoga Instructor Alex Casillas leads guests on their wellness journey. “During my classes, I encourage guests to honor themselves and use the time to re-commit to personal wellness objectives in order to come into realignment,” says Alex.

Here are some amenities that can only be found at Miramonte Resort & Spa Indian Wells:

  • Sacred Circle and Sahumar Ritual: We invite you to join us at 1:00pm for a deeply immersive, full body listening meditative experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet therapeutic restoration to mind and body. This explorative class stimulates the nervous system through sound therapy instruments such as Tibetan Bells, tuning forks, shruti box as well as chants and mantras
  • Sankalpa Ceremony: Join us at 4:00pm for our Sankalpa Ceremony. Sankalpa means heartfelt desire in Sanskrit. This is a welcome ceremony for guests to set their intentions for their stay. This ceremony begins with a sage burning and short meditation followed by a time to allow guests to write the intentions for their stay on “flying wish paper.”
  • Stones of Intention: Otherwise known as gemstones, stones of intention are featured in the spa lobby while smaller slices of agate can be found on the check-in desk. The spa team is available to walk through the benefits of various gemstones including releasing negative emotions like fear and doubt. In addition, the spa features stones of intention in each treatment room to help ease nerves so guests can relax, be present, and leave all worries behind.

The WELL® Spa

The award-winning The WELL® Spa welcomes guests for a deeply relaxing experience that includes methods and rituals inspired by the healing powers of the surrounding desert. They offer unique treatments, in addition to traditional massages and facials. Facilities include a eucalyptus-infused steam room, indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces, and hot and cold soaking pools. Spa-goers can enjoy a private pool with cabanas and a one-of-a-kind jacuzzi with sections (each with a waterfall feature) separated by stone walls. There are also private treatment casitas with private showers, tubs and outdoor lounge areas, which are great for couples. For a view of the Santa Rosa mountains, head to the second floor balcony, that features complimentary massage chairs.

Here are some treatments that can only be found at Miramonte Resort & Spa Indian Wells:

  • Heart + Sol Gemstone Body Wrap: I tried this treatment and it was amazing! It starts with invigorating dry brushing that increases circulation and exfoliates the skin, followed by a massage using Epicuren Sol Exquisite Gemstone Oil that is infused with a Citrine gemstone to “correspond to the Solar Plexus and Heart Chakras, the energy centers of love and courage.” You are then wrapped in a “cocoon” and given a scalp and foot massage, utilizing pressure points that open the heart chakra. The treatment ends with a full-body massage using a citrine lotion to add additional moisture to the skin.
  • Raindrop Therapy: This immune boosting, aromatherapy treatment utilizes 7 essential oils to reduce mental fatigue and offer deep relaxation.
  • Artistic Healing Under the Desert Sun: For couples who want to try something different! Use a variety of healthful clays and muds to paint on each other, then relax on the private patio to let them dry. Wash off in a private tub for two.

The Resort

This luxury resort is situated on 11 acres featuring olive groves, citrus trees, rose gardens, bougainvillea-covered building, fire pits scattered through, tree lit at night with hanging planters, artistic sculptures and three relaxing pool areas (including one “hidden” pool). It offers alfresco dining featuring California cuisine and craft cocktails from the on-property restaurant, Citrus & Palm, that uses fruit picked from the property and seasonal ingredients for food that feeds the body and soul. During the day, take a spin around the neighborhood on electric bikes, play a round of golf on a world-class course or grab a fruit picker pole to pick the fresh lemons and grapefruits growing right outside your guest room. After the sun goes down, listen to live music under the olive tree canopy while playing bocce ball with your fellow travelers.
