Knott’s HangTime coaster thrills

Knott’s HangTime coaster is not for the faint at heart. It’s promoted as a “dive” coaster due to its beyond vertical drop at 96 degrees – the steepest in California. It stands 150 feet high and reaches speeds up to 57 miles per hour. It’s not necessarily the steepness or height that is the scariest part of the thrill ride…it’s the mid-air suspension (where it get’s it’s “hangtime” name) that makes riders anxious.

On Knott’s Berry Farm’s HangTime coaster, riders lay with their backs flat as they ascend up the coaster. Once they go over the hump at the top, they are suspended facing down the track, but they can’t see the track below because it is inverted. That is the part of the ride that freaks people out! Even roller coaster maniacs who love a thrill are surprised by the suspense that this ride offers.

If the hang isn’t enough, Knott’s HangTime coaster also features the following:

  • Negative-G Stall Loop
  • Immelman
  • Corkscrew
  • Cutback
  • Cobra Roll

This is one coaster that will leave your heart racing and will definitely give you bragging rights.
