Hotel Cheval is a quaint 16-room boutique hotel located in central California’s wine country. Whether you’re in the area to taste local wines, or just passing through on an overnight stay, Hotel Cheval offers upscale accommodation – with an equine twist. Cheval means “horse” in French and the owners’ love of horses can be seen in the decor and details of the charming hotel, from the sign that hangs out front, the bed pillow design, and the artwork to the bronze sculptures, stable doors and room names. The 100 percent non-smoking and dog-friendly hotel is located in Paso Robles’ historic town square, which offers several dining, shopping, and wine tasting opportunities.

The Hotel Cheval feels more like a private luxury apartment complex than a hotel. It is very warm and inviting and the guest rooms are cozy and comfortable – like a home away from home. With sophisticated decor and upscale amenities, the rooms offer a welcome respite from everyday life. The rooms are situated around an open courtyard with fireplaces and comfortable seating. The vaulted ceilings make the rooms feel spacious. Some rooms have fireplaces and/or patios.
