Mammoth Mountain Inn

Mammoth Mountain Inn offers slope-side skiing

Mammoth Mountain Inn is a great option if you’re looking for world-class skiing with direct access to the slopes in California. Located about five hours from Los Angeles by car, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area has up to 3,500 acres of skiable terrain with 25 chair lifts. The Mammoth Mountain Inn is located at the base of the ski area, across from the Main Lodge. The 216-unit property has a welcoming lobby with a large fireplace and comfy leather couches to lounge on after a hard day of skiing or snowboarding.

One of the best features is the ski valet. You can drop off and pick up your skis or board and boots in the lobby, so you don’t have to lug it all the way to your room. From the lobby, it’s just a few feet to direct access to take the gondola to the top or hop on one of the three chairlifts. The Inn provides convenient economy accommodation, a cozy lobby, on-property ski rentals, dining with a view of the mountain, and easy access to the slopes.

Slope-side Lodging at Mammoth Mountain Inn

The 216 guest rooms are divided into three buildings. The accommodations are basic with room sizes ranging from 231 square feet for a Queen Hotel Room to the upgraded 1,980-square-foot Pinnacle Suite. There is also a separate building called The Chalet that is an A-frame cabin that sleeps six. The Inn was built in the 50s, so don’t expect high-tech, luxury accommodation, but the convenience to the slopes makes up for it.

Another perk of staying at the Mammoth Mountain Inn is that guests can request an in-room ski boot fitting with a ski rental technician.
